Magnetic Latvia Business Centre at RIGA International Airport to Host the Magnetic Latvia and Digital Freedom Festival “Startup Bootcamp” Event
On November 29th, the day before the influential technology, startup, policy and lifestyle Digital Freedom Festival opening, the Magnetic Latvia business centre at RIGA International Airport will host an unprecedented startup experience event. “Startup Bootcamp Powered by Magnetic Latvia” is organised by Magnetic Latvia in cooperation with the Digital Freedom Festival.
The event will be a continuation of the “Minsk – Riga Startup Train” hackathon, in which joint teams with participants from Latvia and Belarus took off on a five-day train journey over a weekend in August. The goal was to gain new knowledge and experience, try to examine issues from a different viewpoint, and meet with technology professionals, experienced entrepreneurs, experts and mentors.
Latvian Investment and Development Agency (LIAA) Director Andris Ozols: “In organising the Bootcamp powered by Magnetic Latvia workshop we want to immediately accomplish two goals – provide access to experienced mentors who are ready to share their knowledge and skills, as well as continue successful cooperation with promising startup teams from Belarus.”
The “Startup Bootcamp” event will include teams from Belarus and Latvia. Over the day they will have the opportunity to receive support and consultations from international mentors and investors flying into Riga airport on November 29th from all over the world to participate in the Digital Freedom Festival on November 30th and December 1st.
Digital Freedom Festival Co-founder Dagnija Lejiņa: “Attracting new talent and perspective business idea growth both are important for startup ecosystem development. That’s why we’re organising this event with support from Magnetic Latvia – to give specifically early-stage startups the opportunity to get inspiration and even more confidence in the further development of their idea. During the Digital Freedom Festival world-renowned technology and business experts will visit Riga, and these startup teams will have the unique opportunity to be the first to meet the festival speakers and investors at the Magnetic Latvia business centre at RIGA Airport.”
The top three “Minsk – Riga” teams will participate in the event: digital prototype development tool “Artyline” from Belarus, VAT compliance platform “LoVAT” from Latvia, statistics and analysis tool for retailers and banks “Open Business” from Belarus. They will also be joined by travel planning app developers “MeetnGreetMe” from Belarus and two companies from Latvia – cloud technology-based internet of things solutions company “Mazzy”, and business efficiency and profitability assessment tool “Finance Flow”. Teams from LIAA regional business incubators will also be in attendance: construction management platform “Orocon” from Jurmala, children’s football platform for player data and statistics “YoPlayDo” from Daugavpils and manufacturing efficiency measurement solution “InPass” from Liepaja.
The best teams will take the stage at the Digital Freedom Festival on November 30th, and all teams will have the opportunity to participate in and attend the 2-day Digital Freedom Festival event, where they will gain valuable knowledge, establish new contacts and attract interest from potential investors.
